The Pro Tools Music Production Expert Program trains students to operate a Digidesign Pro Tools System at a professional, fast-paced music environment at an above-average skill level.

  • Manage Pro Tools Sessions

  • Work with MIDI Tools
  • Operate Control Surfaces for Music Applications
  • Understand Collaboration options, functionality and techniques, including DigiDelivery and sharing Pro Tools sessions with others

Exam Requirements for Certification

Upon successful completion of these classes, the student will qualify to take the computer class exams for the 101, 110, & 201 classes. Once these exams are passed, the student will be eligible to take the Digidesign Pro Tools Music Operator exam. Once Operator Level Certified, student will be eligible for the Digidesign Pro Tools Expert Exam. The Expert Exam is broken into two parts: a computer class exam and a hands on proficiency exam. Exams are scheduled by appointment once required classes are completed. Hands on Exam fee not included.

Basic Computer Skills Required. Intro to Digital Audio & Music Theory and the Basics of Recording & Engineering are Recommended.

Equipment

Each student will be provided with a Pro Tools workstation for use during lecture/demonstration time. A Pro Tools Workstation consists of a computer (Mac or PC) Pro Tools Software, Digidesign Hardware (LE or HD) various computer plug-ins, a MIDI Controller, and Headphones. A Pro Tools HD system will be provided and may be shared by up to 2 students for exercise projects in the 200 class series. A Pro Tools HD system, control surface, and other Digidesign Hardware will be provided for exercise projects in the 300 class series.
