This course covers techniques for working with Pro Tools in a professional audio post-production environment (audio for video). Concepts and skills learned in Pro Tools 101, 110, and 201 are reinforced with practical post-specific examples. You will gain hands-on experience through a series of class exercise project files. Upon successful completion of this course, and the passing of all previous class exams, the student will qualify to take the Digidesign Pro Tools Post Production Operator exam.

  • Using a Digidesign Worksurface in Post Production

Prerequisites

Basic Computer Skills, Pro Tools 110, and Pro Tools 201 Required. Pro Tools 101, Intro to Digital Audio, and the Basics of Recording and Engineering Recommended.

Equipment

Each student will be provided with a Pro Tools workstation for use during lecture/demonstration time.  A Pro Tools Workstation consists of a computer (Mac or PC), Pro Tools software, Digidesign hardware (LE or HD) various computer plug-ins, a MIDI controller, and headphones. A Pro Tools HD system and Avid Media Station will be provided and may be shared by up to 2 students for exercise projects.
