This course covers the core concepts and skills you need to operate a Digidesign Pro Tools HD system in a professional studio environment. Although the focus is on Pro Tools HD, many of the concepts learned apply to all Pro Tools systems, including LE and M-Powered. You will gain hands-on experience through a series of class exercise project files.

  • Introducing Pro Tools HD
  • Customizing Pro Tools to your session requirements
  • Session Management & the Digibase browser
  • Selection Techniques
  • Editing Techniques
  • Plug-in Automation
  • Mixing, Delay Compensation & In-Depth Plug-In Usage
  • Completing a session & creating a final mixdown
  • Digidesign Worksurface Supplement included

Prerequisites

Basic Computer Skills, Pro Tools 101, & Pro Tools 110. Any Background in Digital Audio is Helpful.

Equipment

Each student will be provided with a Pro Tools workstation for use during lecture/demonstration time.  A Pro Tools Workstation consists of a computer, Pro Tools software, Digidesign hardware (LE or HD) various computer plug-ins, a MIDI controller, and headphones. A Pro Tools HD system will be provided and may be shared by up to 2 students for exercise projects.
