Building on Pro Tools 101, this course provides a more detailed look at the Pro Tools system and software. The Pro Tools 110 course provides the foundation for the later 200-series Pro Tools courses. You will gain hands-on experience through a series of class exercise project files.

  • Configuring Your Studio & Session with I/O Setup
  • Controlling Pro Tools - What is an External Controller?
  • Managing Sessions & Tracks using the Workspace
  • Recording MIDI & Audio
  • Loop Recording & Auditioning
  • Understanding Timescales
  • Using Virtual Instruments & Rewire
  • Editing MIDI & Audio, Quantization, Intro to Beat Detective and Audiosuite
  • Understanding & Working with Automation
  • Using Sends & Returns for Mixing

Prerequisites

Basic Computer Skills Required. Pro Tools 101, Intro to Digital Audio, and the Basics of Recording and Engineering Recommended.

Equipment

Each student will be provided with a Pro Tools workstation to use during class. A Pro Tools Workstation consists of a computer (Mac or PC), Pro Tools software, Digidesign hardware (LE or HD), various computer plug-ins, a MIDI controller, and headphones.
