This certificate program takes students through  concepts and techniques critical to anyone interested in music production. Including courses in digital audio concepts, Pro Tools, music production, and mixing, the Music Producer Basic Certificate provides students with real world knowledge in the music production field. The program includes industry-recognized certification from Waves.

Exam Requirements for Certification: Upon successful completion of these classes, the student will qualify to take computer class exams for the Pro Tools classes. Once these exams are passed, the student will have earned a Music Producer Professional Certificate. Exams are scheduled by appointment once required classes are completed. Exam fees may apply.

Equipment

Each student will be provided with a computer workstation for use during lecture/demonstration time. A Pro Tools Workstation which consists of a computer, Pro Tools Software, Digidesign Hardware (LE or HD) various computer plug-ins including Reason and Waves, a MIDI Controller, and Headphones are provided for use during all Pro Tools, Mixing, and Reason classes. A Pro Tools HD system will be provided and may be shared by up to 2 students for exercise projects in the 200 class series. . A Pro Tools HD system, control surface, and other Digidesign Hardware will be provided for exercise projects in the 300 class series. Avid Media Station is provided for use in post-production classes. Logic Pro software is provided for use in the Logic Pro 101 class.
